My girlfriend is going to Vietnam

on a missions trip......what should she expect???

I assume her food and lodging is provided, but what will it be like? How long of a plane trip is it?

I'm just so curious, and so excited for her!!

I don't know how long the plane flight is, but my IL's just got back from Thailand. I think their flight was 12 - 14 hours + delays. But I don't remember.

Her lodging should be provided with whatever organization she is going with. Her food for the most part should be provided, but she may have to get a couple on her own. Any sight seeing she does will be on her own too.

I have not gone on a missions trip myself, my DD15 did one when she was 9 or 10 to France. All the lodging and food was provided and anything extra they did was something my IL's paid for (she went with them).

My dad went a few years back on a 3 week bird spotting trip (he's a retired wildlife biologist and avid bird watcher). He had an amazing time and took some beautiful photos.

I hope your friend has a great time on her mission trip.

Do you know where she's going? A friend of mine was there a few years ago working with a hospital/orphanage that helps landmine victims. It's affiliated with an org that does landmine cleanup. He has some cool/horrifying stories of the locals riding around with live mines on the back of their scooters going to cash them in.
