Hello to all our dear members and visitors! I am adding this forum that I hope will serve as a resource for those of you in crisis. I know we come here with our joys and struggles. Some are more serious than others, but a kind member suggested that we post some resources for those who need additional information on facing various challenges we encounter.

COUNSELING SERVICES

American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy

Operates a therapist locator site and an information resource link. Site provides helpful articles on a variety of topics affecting both families and individuals.

The National Alliance on Mental Illness

Offers information, local referrals and support to individuals and families facing all types of mental illnesses, both mild and severe.

The National Suicide Prevention Hotline

Hotline is staffed with trained counselors 24 hours a day and offers crisis intervention and local counseling referrals.

Another hotline is Hopeline:
1-800-suicide (1-800-784-2433). The hoteline offers both Spanish and English options. They also have experience dealing with Post Partum Depression issues.

The National Runaway Switchboard
