I posted on the old board about my new baby. It's an electric blue 1991 Dodge Stealth R/T Twin Turbo AWD with only 70,000 miles on it. It has been my dream car since I was 15 years old. My husband bought it for me two weeks ago when I was out of town on business.
At the moment, it is in the shop. I took it in for an alignment, which turned into a wheel bearing replacement that required a part that only the dealer could provide. Normally, we'd do something like that ourselves, but since the shop already had the car taken apart, we told them to go ahead, get the part, and install it. All in all, this is going to set us back $700!!!! Ouch! We will be going back to doing our own repairs after this!
I got a call yesterday that the repair is finally done, but now the car won't start because the battery is dead. They want $75 for the new battery. I calmly explained that I had brought the car in for a simple alignment that should have been done while I waited. They have now had the car for over a week, and it is going to cost me $700 to get it back. I thought I deserved a free battery. Fortunately, the nice young man agreed with me. (I'll be sending his boss a nice letter after I pick up the car.)
So anyhow, I'm getting the car back (finally) tomorrow. I think I need to name it. My first car, a 1988 Chevy, was and always will be the one and only Megmobile. My current other car, a 2000 Mitsu Eclipse, is the Mitsubeastie. I'm having trouble coming up with a fitting name for the Stealth. Suggestions?
