I got a phone call a little while ago, seems that my DD's teacher was busy in the computer lab with the kids, lost track of time and the whole class was so late getting out of school that the bus kids missed the bus! Teacher said you can't hear the bells in the lab.

Thankfully DH had gone to get her from the bus stop, so I was home to answer the phone. I would have been frantic if the bus had shown up without her.

The are putting her on the late bus...poor kid has a long day today, she'll get home at 3:10 instead of 2:10, 7:10 - 3:10 is a LONG day for a 1st grader! I was going to go get her from school, but we live 40 mins away from school, so I wouldn't get there before the late bus left and the school *has* to put her on the late bus if I am not there before it leaves.

Oh my - I hope she is in good spirits when she gets home. Maybe skip the homework tonight. Hopefully the teacher will understand.

Your sense of humor is great, arubagirl! :)

Truthfully - the bright side is that her teacher was so involved that she didn't notice it was time to go home?! Most teachers are checking the clock every minute by that time of day. Sounds like this teacher is really into her job.

Well, I think they need to fix their bell system or something. I bet that messed up alot of plans for alot of people.

Only 2 kids from her class were riding the bus that day...so just her and a lil boy ended up waiting an hour for the next bus.

They were making some variety of present for the parents! Normally they are out of the lab by 1:20 and DH helps teach the class, so he waits another 20mins and drives her home on Wednesdays. Teacher asked him not to come today because they were making presents in the lab...guess it must be something good if it took the whole lab time plus an extra half hour!
