I could eat a whole bakery right now...and it's after midnight. My sweet tooth is outta control. Anyone else?

I crave breakfast foods - pancakes, french toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, etc. I also really like Pepsi from a fountain. No Coke, no cans or bottles - it has to be from a fountain. Luckily, these have not hit at odd times YET!

This morning I had french toast for breakfast followed by half a bag of Milano cookies, which I had to eat while facing the stove so my kids wouldn't see Mommy eating cookies for breakfast! You can't enjoy them quite the same under that kind of pressure but I couldn't wait till nap time.

When I was PG I craved potatoes... however made I needed them. I would use the cheese grater to make hash browns and while one batch cooked I was getting another ready by the platefuls. Same with baked potatoes and McDonalds fries.

I craved hot wings during the last 4 months of my first PG. You have to understand, I despise ANYTHING the least, remote bit spicy. Even mild in most places is too spicy for me. But I ate hot wings almost every day for lunch for 4 months. I still eat them on occasion, too. Go figure.

So just out of curiousity - does your first like spicy foods now? A friend of mine could not eat chicken during her pregnancy and still to this day her son can't stand chicken. Just curious to see if that's typical.

Nope, he cannot stand anything remotely spicy, not even basic black pepper (of course, I don't like that either). But come to think of it, spaghetti made me sick with him, and he refuses to eat spaghetti sauce. And since I lived on crackers for the first 5 months, maybe that is why he prefers salty foods to sweet?? I never really thought about it like this before :) And with my second, there was no one particular thing that made me sick or that I craved, so maybe that is why she eats everything :D

I've always wondered about the connections to cravings during pregnancy and what the children like to eat. I'm sure there are reports out their documenting research on this - would be fun to see.

It must not work when you have gestational diabetes - cuz both of those kids do not care for veggies. I had to eat rounded dishes and they both prefer to eat snack stuff over real food. The middle DS will eat any and everything and I did not have GD with him.

This pregnancy I am craving sushi like crazy! I'm not eating the raw stuff, just the cooked. We are spending way to much money every week on sushi take out. I just can't get enough! Ummm....wasabi!

With this pregnancy I have had a horrid sweet tooth. I normally eat a lot of sweets, but with this one it has been out of control. I tried cutting back, but the cravings are still intense. Now, I just limit my serving size and drink A LOT of water.

When I was pg with DS I craved chocolate ice cream and peaches. He loves them both. With DD I craved egg drop soup I'm not sure if she like it. There was a mom/pop restaurant by my house and I would go get large soup couple times a week. After awhile I would walk through the door and the wife would start making my order. I went after DD and the family was so happy to meet her and they gave her a bonsai tree. I guess she was there little soup baby. Sadly the place is now closed and reopen as a Thai place.

When I was pregnant with dd21 I craved Chinese food and get this, Bluebell Homemade vanilla ice cream with sweetened condensed milk poured on top. In the last 2 months I had pre eclampsia and had to really watch my diet. I had broiled fish with lemon and steamed broccoli for dinner almost everyday. (very bland, but I lost 7lbs of water weight in 2 days) My dd21 loves Chinese food, ice cream and sushi (from all the fish I ate?)

When pregnant with dd18 the thought of ice cream or any thing creamy made me sick, so I never ate any. Again, I craved Chinese food. DD18 does not like creamy things, including ice cream, and loves Chinese food!

When I was pregnant with DS4 I had a very strange craving (pica) it was to eat white emulsion paint -obviously not something I could give in to !
I also craved very strong mints in the last 2 months -a bit of a safer craving:)
