I've decided that the official state car of Texas must be the Chevy Tahoe. From the time I moved here 6 months ago, that is the car that I see most often on the road. Of course, now that I'm looking at the Honda Pilot, I'm seeing lots of those but not nearly as many as the Tahoes! Is there a certain car in your area of the country that you see everywhere?

Whenever we have people visit from Texas or North Carolina at work, they always comment on the fact that there are no pick-up trucks in the Chicago area. I never really thought about it, but I guess trucks would be more common away from the city.

I don't know about a car that's more popular here - but it does seem that over 50% of the vehicles on the road in NC are white! Can't figure that out!

Ford Explorers. Defintely Ford Explorers in Connecticut, although every second vehicle is a minivan. Not any specific minivan, just a minivan. Ford Explorers have it for non minivan.

In Massachusetts...

anything with 4 wheel drive...and minivans.

Lots of Jeeps (I own one), Honda CRVs and all those mid level SUVs each car company has.

I live in cental Mass and we have a LOT of snow here. They always show Worcester, MA on the weather channel instead of Boston cause we are higher elevation and get a lot of snow. It is also very hilly here. So 4X4s are needed.

RMLyonsFamily,
I live in the California desert and white is the color of choice here because of all the dirt.

I don't know what's most popular. We have lots of cars, trucks and SUV's.

I agree with Crayons, Connecticut is full of Ford Explorers and Minivans, but if its a car its a Honda or an expensive import.

Out here in So. CA it seems to be SUV's. I feel so dwarfed when I pick up DD from her school and am surrounded by huge pickups and SUV's.

I love my little Saturn.... fits in all the unoccupied "compact" parking spaces.

There are a ton of trucks on the road here. I live in the redneck side of things!! LOL

Also lots of Chevy Malibu / Nissan Altima type cars.

I agree with Jore. Here in So. Cal. it seems there are alot of SUV and trucks. Maybe it just seems that way because that's what we drive and do you ever feel like after you buy a car that what you see more of? I don't know maybe I'm a little wacky.

I'm in Texas and I'm one that owns a Tahoe as well. We bought ours 4 years ago and there were about 5 or 6 in my neighborhood, the same color. They are everywhere!

I would also add that "luxury" cars like BMW, Lexus, Range Rovers, and the like are big here too! Lots of status cars due to the Hollywood proximity!

Oh yes.... have to agree with that one! I feel like such a poor person parking my lil Saturn inbetween Hummers, Lexus, BMW and the like.... oh well, I like a full-paid for Saturn much better then a higher-end vehicle and a loan.

Here in sunny FL with the beach on one side and a large retirement community on the other I would say it is a three way tie.

Hummer - BMW(convertibles mostly) - Caddies
