Well we are "sort of" wheeling and dealing on our saturn despite that fact that they say they don't wheel and deal. That maybe true on the price but financing is a WHOLE different thing.

When we test drove the car last week they said we'd be better off checking into financing elsewhere...so that's what we did and found a great rate at a credit union. Well I called today b/c we are really crunched for time b/c of limited hours at the credit union and the fact that we both work. So the guy suddenly changes his tune and says well give me the information on their rate we might be able to get close to that rate and save you guys running around all day on saturday....

So we shall see....

Now I'm just worried about our trade ins....fingers crossed for us...I'll write more when I hear something!

And the guy never called us back....so he probably just lost a sale...how can you not call someone back when you are trying to sell a car?

I got that when I bought my Tahoe last year. We qualify for the GM supplier pricing program, so there shouldn't have been a lot of haggling with the salesman, but I still had to call him over and over and over to find out about what they had on the lot, what they could get me, test drives, etc. It was so annoying!!! If I am going to give you XX thousands of MY hard earned dollars, the least you could do is call me back and act like you want it!!!! We did finally end up buying from him, simply becuase he was the closest dealership to me, and I wasn't willing to drive too far out of my way because we had local bank financing, and that would have been a LOT of driving back and forth. I have not, however, recommended him to anyone else!!!

I think it's time to find another Saturn dealer or time to investigate other vehicle makes. I mean, I sent a fax to 11 dealers and got 6 responses.

Incidentally, with this deal I just finished, I walked into the dealership only once and was there for 30 minutes. We met the salesman, completed the paperwork, met the service manager (we will service the vehicle there) and we drove back north. Using fightingchance.com made this vehicle purchase so pleasant. I'm with E&J's Mom....I'm giving you thousands and you don't want it??? I'll find someone who will.

Having your financing in order ahead of time means the dealership only makes money on the car....if they get you financing, they make money on that too!
