He's home, slightly miserable with the cone on his head but happy to be home. Both elbow bones were cut, reshaped and reset, his pelvis was fused to end Hip Displaysia and since he was already out they neutered him as well.

Resting doesn't have to be done in my crate Mommy!

Poor baby!!! He looks so sad. I'm glad it went well and that he's home. I hope recovery is as easy as can be.

Congratulations on a successful surgery. The post op process is supposed to suck, all part of the healing process. He won't even remember this next year! Cheers to a very merry Christmas for your whole family, because Heaven knows, it could have been a miserable one!

The casts come off Thurs. he has tons of stitches under them to be removed. I am looking to have new casts put on since he is very clumsy and I don't need him re-breaking his elbows.
He can walk.... kinda stumps around, I have a sling to help him up and walk around with so he won't fall and re-break his elbows.
8 weeks of crate confinement though... not very fun.

Poor baby, I can't imagine 8 weeks of crate confinement, my dogs would go crazy! Good luck to you!
Poor pooch! Give him an extra hug or two from your GG friends!

Casts came off today! :D
The incisions under the cast were inflamed so we didn't put new ones on. Instead I am having to clean the incisions multiple times a day and keep him even quieter.
He goes back for x-rays in 4 weeks and in 4 days I can take the cone off his head.
He was happy to go see the vet today, the surgery techs came out and carried him in for me (70lbs of poochie! ), he was all happy to see them again and happily trotted off to get the casts taken off.

What a brave guy to be happy to see the vet again - I'd probably run the other direction if I were him - you must have a great vet :)

Silly poochy figured out Mommy will let him get away with murder. He's still resting allright... ON the couch! How do you say no to such a cute face that's happy and snoring away?
His cone is off so he's thrilled and wants to run all over.. not to thrilled about spending another month cooped up.

Oh boy - you know you better nip that one in the bud right now or Tiberius will forever think the couch is "his" toy. LOL - it is hard to say no to their cute faces though! We always let our labs have "human" rights when we went out to our cabin. They were allowed up on the couches and they would take full advantage of it since they were outdoor dogs only at home.

hehe I think I'll let him have it.
It's a thick leather couch, so all the dog hair will vacuum off of it very easily, it's definately not new, but it's in good shape. Oh well it's in the front room and nobody sits in there much anyways, everyone prefers the family room. I think that's why he chose it... it's quiet and peaceful there.

So glad to hear Tiberius is doing better! He is such a handsome doggie! I let my dog on the couch too, but he knows to get off when I motion or tell him "off" so it doesn't bother me too much. He mostly comes up only to snuggle with me.

My doggies used to get on the couch. I could just say down and they would move, boy I miss telling them down. We had to find them new homes when we moved here and I miss them so so much.
