That is just adorable!! Let us know how it turns out. I bookmarked the pattern. I need to finish DD's dress before I start any new projects. :D

Looks easy enough, right?
I bought 3 different fabrics, one was stripes of pink, yellow, lime green & orange, another was lime green w/ red cherries, another was pink & white checks - thought it would be fun to put a pocket inside in a different fabric than the purse is in.......works for Vera Bradley, right?

Absolutely! All those prints and colors sound great. That sounds like something I would love. Of course, I love anything with a cherry print. A few years ago Gymboree had a cherry line... DD wore cherries all the time for a while. I loved it!
I can not wait to see how it turns out!! I did end up buy a few new fabrics thinking about that bag and how I shouuld make one. Maybe I'll join you this weekend in craftland :)

Really cute! It's similar to the one my DD's made for her first sewing project.

I ended up going w/ an easier bag for my 1st one - the pleats in the other one scared me off as I'm a newbie to this! So, here's my tote!

That is so cute!
And did anyone else notice the fabric on that tote matches the fabric on Jore's DD's pic in siggy?

LOL no I didn't notice! Must be why I liked the bag so much..... her stripey dress is from the Gymboree Cupcake Line.
I just *had* to get my girls cupcake clothing!

They say it should take about 20 minutes - but start to finish it took me a little over an hour - still not bad!

My Mom bought Bethany the same shirt and brown jeans in that line. I love that outfit on her. They have the best clothes. :)

Stacey - Post of pic of the dress when you finish!
Very cute. I have my grandmother's old Singer and one day I swear I will learn to use it. I can hand sew very well, but the machine intimidates me a bit.

very cute! I think I may have to try this - I hae so much left over fabric that it is crazy - not enough for clothes, but this could work for library book bags, flight bags for the girls, road-trip bags, etc.

It took about a yard of fabric, so not much at all! Your ideas for uses below are great! My next one I will sew a little pocket into it for our library cards & use it for our bi-weekly trips to the library!

I LOVE the step by step photo instructions! I have a ton of material waiting for me to take the time to make the girls some twirly skirts. I think I'll make some bags to match. How fun! Thanks for sharing the link!
LOVE IT!!!! great job :)
Ok, so here is my pleated purse and my matching bag to hold little stuff. It really was a super easy bag to make and very forgiving on mistakes.
