My boys are 26 months apart, I wanted them closer, but it didn't happen. They are 9 and 7 now and are the best of friends :) Dh and his bro are 10 months apart

Mine are 18 mos apart. They are two peas in a pod. The younger would sleep in the older's bed if I would let her. They are now 3y and almost 2y. I would have had them a year apart if I had known it was going to be this easy.

My first 2 are 11 months (49 weeks to be exact) apart. They are now 6 and 5. I would recommend to NOT try to have kids this close together. While my kids are best of friends and they have always been 'easy' kids, other things have been hard. My body took a beating by being pregnant for 2 years straight. Doing errands and most shopping was very difficult and frustrating. When the baby was born, I had 2 babies, but they did completely different things.
However, if you find yourself pregnant soon after having a baby, it will be fine and there are many blessings.

Mine are 16mos apart and I love it. I felt it was the way to go. We got all the baby stuff done and over with at almost the same time. They are 6&7 now and they are best pals.

My 3 are...
July 22 92 to
Nov 12 94 = 28 months Then
Sept 27 96 = 22 months
From oldest to youngest there are 4 years
They have always been close which was very nice, CRAZY... but nice
Things are less crazy since I do not have to lug all three of them out when one has something to do. Unless it is the oldest one, then I'm a little leary leaving 12 & 10 home.
Unfortunately, my 10 year old thinks he's 14 and wants to do EVERYTHING his older brother does.

See, I think the baby stuff is the BEST stuff. Man, I love me some babies.
Mine are 10, 6 and 3, so I got to really enjoy each one as an infant and toddler, before the next came along. Now that my youngest is 3 I'm having some serious baby withdrawals. I was watching ER last night, and watching Abby with her baby made me want to jump DH and make another. (Thank Goodness that impulse passed)(I mean the baby part, not the jump the DH part, :D )

I kind of got on a baby roll there toward the end of having kids, so they are pretty close in age.
Jan. 86
Aug. 91
Sept. 93
April 95--stillborn baby
June 96
Aug. 97
My granddaughters are pretty close in age too. June 04 and May 05.

I forgot to mention that I have baby 3 - he is now 1. When he was born, the others were 5 and 4. I also LOVE the baby stage, but because the other 2 were so close in age, I did not get to enjoy it. I am soaking up every minute of 'babyness' from him while the other 2 are in school during the day. I don't think we would have had a 4 year gap between kids if we had a more normal gap between the first 2, but I am enjoying the makeup of our family very much.

My family is worse than Brittney's. I'm 22 and my brothers are 3 and 8. That's right there are only 3 of us and we are 19 and 14 years apart. There is only an 18 yr differenct between my dad and I and a 13 yr difference in my stepmom and I. People don't believe them when they say they have a 22 y.o. sister. lol

I seem to have a lot to say on this thread - I am the oldest of 5. We are currently 31, 29, 27, 21, and 11. When I was a jr. in college my mom had the youngest brother. I am sure he does not talk about his 'old' sister much. My brother is an uncle to 6 kids currently - they are 11, 10, 6, 5, 3, and 1. The 11 and 10 year old go to the same school he does.
My mom was 46 when my brother was born and I was almost 21 - no one would believe me when he was a baby and I said he was my brother. No one would believe me now if they saw him with me and my kids - my sons look very much like him!

I have a 25month old DD and I wanted them close in age. We tried to get pregnant and did in February. THat would have put them at 26 months apart. Unfortunately we had a miscarriage. We are trying now, which if we get pregnant that would pu them at close to 3 years apart.
It's actually working out well....She will be able to understand more, and be more accepting. I just hope we get pregnant soon, I don't want them much further apart in age.

Haha, The first thing I thought when I saw this was oh thank goodness, I'm not the only one. I got yelled at by an old lady one time in a super market because "KIDS SHOULDN"T BE HAVING KIDS" and then hit my mom with her cane "because she didn't raise me right" all because she thought my little brother was my son. It was one of the funniest/scarriest experences of my life.

Brittney, HOLY COW! I would have been terrified!
Anyway, 6 years between DD#1 and DD#2. Then between DD#2 and DD#3 there are just 53 weeks. Exactly.
It was really rough the first year or so. I so relate to having two babies that do completely different things! I'd be trying to feed the littlest one and the other would be ripping off her own diaper and running naked. (Duct tape solved that problem!!!) Anyway, now they're best friends at almost 5 & 4. It really does get easier.

LOL, that sounds like one of those funny to other people, but not you situations, or funny after it happens. I can only imagine.

Mine are 15 months apart, and Staci's not kidding about your body taking a beating. It was really hard with them both in diapers, too. Now that they are 4 and 5, I wouldn't have it any other way. They have their moments, because they are develloping at different speeds sometimes, but for the most part, they are so close I weep for the joy of it. They have an intense connection, and I swear they can read each other's minds.
The way DS takes care of his little sister, and sees that all of her needs are met and that she is happy and comfortable gives me hope for the whole human species. The way DD dotes on her older brother and makes sure all of his needs are met and he is comfortable gives me hope for the whole human species. Yes, they absolutely have their moments, and they are very 4 and very 5, but when it comes down to the thick of it, they have each other's backs each and every time. I know that through the years, I don't have to worry about them, because they've got each other covered. It's as great feeling.
2 in diapers? Wouldn't do that again!!

My boys are 17 months apart and my DD is 2 1/2 years younger than my youngest son. I don't know if all of you have boys or girls or a combo. but my boys fight, a lot. They compete over everything. They are 5 and almost 4 and while they do get along they are also both very stubborn and butt heads a lot. I have pretty much always had 2 in diapers which is not cheap and sometimes not fun! But they also love each other very much and I think as they grow up will get along well. They are total opposites, one is a puzzle type kid and one obsessed with sports, but they already protect their sister!

my DS is almost 25 months, and i dont plan on trying for another one until NEXT "may, june or and july." i REALLY dont want to be pregnant during the summer again in Texas, so i want a "march, april, may" baby in the year of 2008. that would put them at a little over 3 years apart...

We asked her the same thing when she got pregnant with Carson - her last one! She had to have a hysterectomy after him so that's the end. I'd go nuts!

My husband has a cousin with a similar family. At the last family reunion, his grandma told the cousin (father of all those kids) to "Put a rubber band around it." I guess you can get away with saying things like that when you're 83!

My boys are a day shy of 22 months apart. My girls are only a minute apart. My boys are currently 10 and 9 but in another month it will be 11 and 9. They fight alot, but they like to do the same things. So what ever I buy the oldest DS the other one will like it also and the same with the girls. They all have their own likes and dislikes.
On the other side, I have great nieces and great nephews the same age as my children.

MIne are 18 months 2 weeks apart. The first few months were the toughest. Nursing was the hardest part because Trevor wanted to be on my lap while I was nursing. Now that that is finished it's a lot easier. The hardest part is packing them up and loading them into the car. My oldest is almost 12 though and there is 9 years between him and my second son. He is a big helper though.

first two boys are about 18 months apart.
6 years and 3 months later...#3 was born.
close in age and far apart both have their benefits
My favorite part of having #3 is that I have met so many neat people that I otherwise wouldn't have because we wouldn't have been in the same age group of activities. (does that make sense?)

My kids are 3 1/2 years apart what a mistake. My little princess was going to be such a big helper when her little brother was born- yeah right!
The day my DS was born she saw him through the window of the nursery and said "Oh it's my little bib".......that was the last nice thing she had to say about /to him for 20 years. They are now 25 and 22 and can get along for about three days and that's the longest it's ever been.
I whish they would get along they could be such good friends it just didn't work out that way. They have opposit personalities and just don't click.
